<title>Sin [Restaurant/Bar/Lounge] in Vis. Comm. Fall 2009 Classes : 4356- PROFESSIONAL PREP</title>

<description>Topic: Sin [Restaurant/Bar/Lounge]

Message: Sin is a high-end, luxury, restaurant/bar/lounge located in the arts district of Dallas, where you can go to escape from your regular humdrum work life for a night. Hidden away from the normal crowds of the entertainment district, Sin seeks to provide it's patrons with a sense of exclusiveness, secrecy, and richness normally reserved for the filthy rich. With the majority of the population stuck in joyless careers or dull cookie cutter lives, there needs to be a place that allows you to break loose and indulge yourself. This indulgence, or &#34;sin&#34; is healthy and necessary, in moderation. &#34;Streak of sin.&#34; With that in mind, I wanted my design to feel very modern over all but with a burst of color/texture. Here are a few early versions of the mark:And this is the final mark:My hope is that the fork will act as an icon for the brand. Spoons, martini glasses, and other related items will be rendered in the same style to further the dialog between the audience and the brand.

<title>another nest. in Vis. Comm. Fall 2009 Classes : 4356- PROFESSIONAL PREP</title>

<description>Topic: another nest.

Message: Hey. here is the direction i am going for my mark so far-I want to give this company life by extending the customer experience and relationship beyond its normal bounds. Nest is a modest boutique in Chicago that specializes in children's furniture, toys, games, etc. It is also an important&#160; goal of the company to contribute to the community through outreach and events to enrich the lives of children and their families. Nest is more than just a store- it is a destination.In my mark i am trying to explore relationships between parents and children as an analogy for Nest and their customers- literally nesting young animals into their parent. I am keeping the colors light, fun, non-gender-specific, and fresh.

<title>NEST successfulness so far... in Vis. Comm. Fall 2009 Classes : 4356- PROFESSIONAL PREP</title>

<description>Topic: NEST successfulness so far...

Message: I really like the top right one. I get a more cartoon/modern feel with that one, but not necessarily earth feel. The bottom left one resembles more of a leather? store( I've seen something similar but cannot recall..ek) but does not look playful enough to be for children's toyshop.

<description>Topic: NEST successfulness so far...

Message: So far what I'm successful on is figuring out what my companys look and feel will be like. Having toys that will connect with each other thru interchangeable parts and making the toys of earth and people friendly materials that will last a long time is what NEST is about. Now I'm trying to convey the feeling of earthly resposibility and modernism through the NEST logo.&#160; I was accenting the &#34;nesting&#34; of the letterforms by grouping them like baby chicks would be in a nest, and also protecting the name with the parentheses simulating a nest-like shell. Since I have mainly been working with type so far,&#160; now I need to take it even farther by seeing if there is an icon i can attach to or work with the ideas in the typography i have so far.&#160; &#160;

<title>Brand Gap: Pin Cushion in Vis. Comm. Fall 2009 Classes : 4356- PROFESSIONAL PREP</title>

<description>Topic: Brand Gap: Pin Cushion

Message: Brand is not what a designer or company creates, it is what the public makes of it. With this in mind I created a fake persona of somebody who would buy/use the product I am designing for. By using this profile, I can target the specific audience I am going for, and directing my design towards that.With my logo, I am working on original typography that incorporates the product literally into the logo. The thread brings the product &#34;back to the basics&#34; back to what makes the merchandise. A direction that hopefully will relate to the customers, so that they get that gut feeling that is appropriate to the product.

<description>Topic: Brand Gap

Message: I think this prototype package speaks about the company. In a way it is nearly a brand itself. Without a logo you still get the feel and attitude of what the company is about. Approaching the problem as a personality more than just a logo helps the consumer buy into it personally.
